DENVER, July 12, 2022 New advocacy nonprofit organization Uncommon Sense revives a successful podcast, rebranding it to bring light to a broad spectrum of social and political issues affecting lives across the nation. Things You Didn't Know You Wanna Know That You Should Know (Things) discusses prevalent, and sometimes painful, topics that need to be addressed from the correlation between bullying and mass shootings, integrity loss of the supreme court, voter suppression, teacher crisis, homelessness, DACA and more.

Committed to raising awareness since its inception, Things was originally The Invisibles: The Homeless Podcast. Previously associated with the nonprofit, Shelter Matters, the podcast explored all aspects of homelessness and strategized innovative solutions. Things will continue its legacy with original host, Dave Sevick, creating an empathetic environment to gain insight on current issues and catalyze lasting change.

The first episode "After the Bullying" will discuss the correlation between bullying and school shootings. The featured guest is motivational speaker and soon-to-be-author, "The Almost Shooter" Aaron Stark, a victim of severe school bullying. After multiple ignored attempts to seek help, Stark reached the end of his rope and planned a mass shooting at his high school with the intention of killing as many students and teachers as possible. One simple act of kindness by his neighbor was enough to make Stark change his mind the night before his planned shooting. Tune in today to hear Stark's full story and his thoughts on prevention.
