Award-Winning Writer Shares Collection of Stories from Her Life that Offer A Reflective Journey of Faith

SAN ANTONIO, July 7, 2025 For most of her life, Dr. Dixil Lisbeth Rodriguez collected stories of her learnings, her interactions with others, and her observations within the scope of academia and chaplaincy. She was driven to do so by a desire to find lessons from Scripture in everyday life.

In "Cartography of Faith," Rodriguez selected these specific stories during a season of loss after her mother passed. For years she has journaled, and the entries yielded material for publishing and sharing in speaking engagements and conferences, yet the stories she shares in her book are the ones her mother enjoyed the most.

"These stories are a testimony that human beings are not abandoned by God; they provide evidence of the presence of God in human life," said Rodriguez.

"Stories are powerful and provide a gravitas that is relatable, interesting, humbling, and transformative," said Rodriguez. "In a season of loss, God opened a door to share stories that demonstrated His presence in our daily lives."

Rodriguez was a columnist for a Christian magazine for ten years and has earned writing awards from the Associated Church Press for several years. The stories in her collection witness the value of the individual in the eyes of Jesus Christ, demonstrate that human beings carry with them deep existential, and material needs, demonstrate that isolation is not always good, and finally, the stories are a way of looking back.
